two things i liked today

1. Covers of "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme. I had no idea this would make a nice little folk song. I think the 5th one down is my favorite with the guy and girl in the airport.

2. Gawker noticed that the GOP response to President Obama's speech last night sounded an awful lot like Kenneth the page.

2 Awesome things

Two awesome things to start off Friday:

1. Blair and Serena from Gossip Girl are going to be doing a guest spot on 30 Rock!! This is a TV dream come true!!

2. This website has 50 covers of songs from Madonna, Michael Jackson and Prince- since they all recently turned 50. Ryan Adams does a cover of 'Like a Virgin'- love that one! Amy Winehouse and Charlotte Church covering 'Beat It'- maybe the strangest combo ever but kind of awesome. John Legend and Stephen Colbert singing the Michael Jackson song 'The Girl is Mine' is SO freaking funny. I've never heard of this song but...it's worth listening to.

This is a lovely cover of Elton John's 'Rocket Man' by My Morning Jacket. I've already listened to it three times and it's only 9:15.
